When hosting a dinner party, I always try to pick main dishes that can be prepped at least partially, if not completely, in advance. I learned during my time as an event planner that the more you can prep ahead, the more stress-free your party will be.

Many of these dinner recipes are inspired by skills I learned in culinary school or recipes my mom made for me growing up. When it comes to hosting, dinners should feel just as effortless as impressive.
