Why you'll love this recipe

  • This non-alcoholic drink is something the whole family will enjoy!
  • Make a big pitcher of it to serve at your next party! Prep it ahead and you won't need to play bartender all night.
  • This sweet and spiced drink is perfectly balanced! The warm spices make it extra festive for the Fall, holidays, or Thanksgiving.

Key Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Apple Cider: description
  • Ginger Beer: most ginger beer is non-alcoholic, but to keep this drink a mocktail, be sure to double-check the label.
  • Maple Syrup: The syrup adds a touch of sweetness and depth of flavor.
  • Rosemary sprig: Smack the sprig between your palms to release the oils before adding to the mocktail.
  • Spices: Cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves are all super festive for fall!

Garnish suggestions

The garnishes make this apple cider mocktail feel extra special! Don't feel like you need to include all of these, but these are some of my favorites:

  • Rosemary sprig: my favorite; smack it between your hands before using to release the oils!
  • Apple slices: thinly slice them so that they bend a little around your glass.
  • Cinnamon stick: to be extra fancy, light the tip of it on fire for a few seconds.
  • Star anise: A beautiful garnish! They have a licorice taste to them so avoid them if you don't like licorice.
  • Cloves: Also very festive! Leave out if serving to little kids or guests that could choke on them.

Entertaining tip: make a large batch!

  • When entertaining, I highly recommend making a large batch of this drink ahead of time so that you don't have to play bartender all night.
  • Serve it in a large pitcher or punch bowl with garnishes floating. Alternatively, leave the garnishes on the side for guests to top their own.
  • When serving this at a party, I like to make the mocktail version in a pitcher then leave a bottle of alcohol next to it in case any guests would like to add it to their drink. Vodka, gin, whiskey, or tequila would all be delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Apple cider
  • 2 oz Ginger beer
  • 0.5 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 small rosemary sprig
  • Cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and/or apple slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a glass with ice. Add in the apple cider, ginger beer, and maple. Stir to combine and garnish with a rosemary sprig and additional garnishes, as desired.

Notes

  • This makes a great batch mocktail! Serve it in a large pitcher or punch bowl with garnishes floating, or leave the garnishes on the side for guests to top their own.
  • For a holiday twist, add a splash of cranberry juice!
  • To be extra fancy, carefully light the tip of a cinnamon stick on fire for 10 seconds.
  • To make this a cocktail, serve with 1.5 oz vodka, whiskey, or gin. If serving a crowd, I like to make a pitcher of the mocktail and then leave a bottle of alcohol next to it for guests to add as they please.
