These easy Herb Whipped Goat Cheese Crostini are the perfect finger food appetizer for a crowd! Made with fresh chives, basil, parsley, and garlic, these goat cheese crostini are fresh and flavorful!

Key Ingredients
- Goat cheese: look for a good-quality plain goat cheese or "chevre".
- Herbs: I use equal parts fresh chives, parsley and basil. I recommend using fresh herbs as opposed to dried.
- Garlic: I've tested this recipe with both 1 and 2 cloves of garlic. I find using 1 clove is a safer bet when serving at a party. That said, if you are a garlic lover, go ahead and use 2 cloves (just be prepared for a little garlic breath- ha!)
- Pine nuts: The pine nuts add a little crunch to the crostini. I recommend storing pine nuts in the freezer to preserve their shelf life.
- Sourdough or French baguette: For the most flavorful crostini, I opt for a good-quality, crusty sourdough or French baguette.
Why you'll love this recipe
- Made with garlic and fresh herbs, this whipped goat cheese is so flavorful!
- This easy to pick up appetizer is the perfect finger-food for a cocktail party or dinner party!
- This vegetarian dish is great for serving a crowd!
- Prep the crostini and goat cheese in advance to leave one less thing to do before the party starts! (see notes below for prep ahead tips).
How to make crostini with goat cheese
1. Prep the crostini by brushing both sides of the sliced baguette with olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.
2. Bake the baguette for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Set aside and let them cool while you finish prepping the whipped goat cheese.
3. To make the herb goat cheese, place the fresh chives, parsley, basil, garlic, goat cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper in the bowl of a food processor. Process until smooth and whipped, about 30-60 seconds. Taste, adjusting for seasoning as desired.
4. To serve, spread the herb goat cheese on the crostini. Top each crostini with a few pine nuts and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.
Prep ahead tips
- The crostini can be made up to 1 day in advance and stored in an airtight container in a cool dry place.
- The herbed goat cheese can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Note that once it has been refrigerated it will become a bit firmer and have less of that "whipped" airy texture. That said, it will still be delicious! You are welcome to pop it back in the food processor for a few seconds to re-whip it if you'd like!
Serving Suggestions
For an easy to-pick up appetizer, I love spreading the whipped goat cheese on the crostini and topping each with pine nuts and a drizzle of olive oil.
If you'd like to add this herbed goat cheese to a charcuterie board, or if you'd simply prefer for guests to be able to help themselves, you can serve the cheese in a small bowl (as pictured below) with crostini on the side. This is a great option if you plan on serving several cheese options to go with the crostini. It is also a great option if you are shorter on time.
